Bee-Hive News

We checked on the queen bee in the hive today to see if she might be out of her box. We found that the bees had made a great deal of wax, uncapped honey, and there was a great deal of pollen stored in the inner cells. The queen had chewed through most of the plug and the bees on the outside had worked on chewing through the plug. Elly Maxwell, entomologist from Dow Gardens, was there with us a we checked over the hives progress. What an awesome sight.
